Smoketown Rotary Club members participated in a November Fundraiser at the FSK Mall Barnes & Noble to support the Brunswick Elementary School Media Center.

Led by Rotarian Jenny Diaz, several members of the club were on hand to greet families and wrap holiday gifts for mall shoppers. Visitors were given a special bookmark and code to use as they approached the register with their checkout items.

Proceeds from online Barnes & Noble sales at BN.com were also factored in, as supporters used the special code to activate the Smoketown Rotary fundraiser component during online checkout. Barnes & Noble leadership kept the code active & eligible for the entire weekend.

BES teacher Melissa Burton, Math Specialist Tina Bennett and Reading Specialist Becky Somerville were on hand at Smoketown Rotary’s February 7th meeting to accept the $1,262 Barnes & Noble Gift Card from the fundraiser.

Smoketown Rotary will conduct 2020 B&N Fundraisers on April 11th and December 6th. The club also contributes to many other initiatives to benefit local schools, such as the Mobile Science Mobile, Dictionaries for 3rd Graders, Lunch Out of Landfills among others.
