Smoketown Rotary Club Hosts Speaker from Apprenticeship Maryland

On Friday, June 15th, 2018, the Smoketown Rotary Club of Brunswick hosted Teresa Mena from the State of Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing & Regulation.

Ms. Mena spoke about the Apprenticeship Maryland Program, which provides structured, on-the-job training for High School Juniors and Seniors in Maryland.

She talked about how Maryland companies are using the Apprenticeship program to grow their workforce and talent pool while investing in bright, young talented students.

In addition to gaining valuable, on-the-job training, students receive credit for their work and are able to leave school early if needed. Once they complete their apprenticeship, they earn their High School Diploma and/or State Certification.
